1/20/18 - Du-Par's Pasadena & The Dog Cafe Los Angeles

1/20/18 - DuPar's and The Dog Cafe

Today R and I decided to go to our beloved Du-Par's in Pasadena, CA for a late breakfast followed by a trip to The Dog Cafe.

The Du-Par's location we used to go to was at The Golden Gate Hotel in Downtown Las Vegas. Unfortunately, that location was closed in February of 2017 and was definitely missed on all our Vegas trips since then. We would always make sure we ate there at least once. You can imagine our delight when we found the Pasadena location, and it's so close to our neighborhood!

R and I split orders of pancakes and french toast and definitely were not disappointed. They also have a great bakery and I highly recommend you get a pie to take home. They are all very delicious.

Next on the agenda for today was our trip to The Dog Cafe in Los Angeles. I heard about this wonderful place through a friend and we went for the first time a couple of months ago and it was so much fun we couldn't wait to come back!

The Dog Cafe is a great non-profit rescue that helps socialize, rehabilitate and find forever homes for abandoned/abused dogs that are from high-kill shelters. It is $15 per person for an hour of playing with the dogs, which also includes a free drink (we just found out that drinks will no longer be included with admission starting February 2018 but that definitely won't be a deal breaker for us)

All proceeds go to supporting the dogs' health and well-being. We love coming here because not only do we feel our money is going to a good cause, but we also get to spend time with all the sweet dogs that simply relish love and affection. Typically this place is meant for those looking to adopt but they encourage anyone to come in just to play with them in order to help get them socialized.

As you can see from all the photos there is definitely a good variety in terms of breeds, sizes, and ages.  We were happy to see that most of the dogs that were here last time had been adopted out and there was a fresh batch of new doggies for us to meet.  They truly are doing a great job finding these little angels homes and we'll continue to support their cause as much as we can. We already can't wait to come back!

For more information you can check out their website www.thedogcafela.com.

If you would like to support their cause but are unable to visit them in person they have an Amazon wishlist link on their website so you can always help out by ordering products for them that they need to keep maintaining such a great facility.

Thanks for reading!
